Hamilton grabs pole at Silverstone

Lewis Hamilton set a track record at the British Grand Prix and clinched a 91st career pole position Saturday. It was also his seventh pole at the Silverstone circuit, where he has won a record six times. His lap of one minute 24.303 seconds was 0.313 seconds ahead of Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas and about one second faster than Red Bull's Max Verstappen. Canadian Lance Stroll qualified sixth.
