Removing police from Peel schools is wrong move
Re Police in Peel Region to stop placing officers inside local schools, July 29
What a sad state of affairs it is when major decisions are made without due consideration to what the majority wants/needs.
To stop placing officers inside local schools at a time when they are most needed is without a doubt the wrong move. I have worked in Peel schools for over 30 years. I have personally witnessed the positive effects of having police officers in schools where they were able to establish personal relationships and a level of understanding with the students that could have never been attained otherwise.
Avoiding contact with that which we are not comfortable with, such as police officers in schools, will only serve to further divide the various groups that make up our society.
