Star risks making itself irrelevant to most readers

Re MacKay is the smartest choice, Editorial, Aug. 20

Today’s paper, with several articles on the WE scandal, risks making the Star irrelevant to the majority of your readers and subscribers.

We are preoccupied with the real and present risks to our lives, not to mention the true outrage Premier Doug Ford is foisting on our schools. Your editorial endorsing Peter MacKay is icing on a very unappetizing cake.

When the Star was bought by a consortium led by rich white men, we were assured this would not lead to the remake of the Star as a National Post-lite. It sure hasn’t taken long for you to disabuse us of that notion.
