Markham death sparks homicide investigation

York Region police have opened a homicide investigation after a man was found dead inside a Markham home Wednesday afternoon.

Police say they were called shortly after 2 p.m. for a wellness check at a home on Feeney Lane, near Bayview Avenue and Highway 7, and found the dead man, believed to be in his 50s.

Police say the man’s death is suspicious and his identity won’t be released until the post-mortem investigation.

Investigators are searching of a vehicle that may be connected to the crime.

The vehicle is described as a black 2015 Honda CRV with an Ontario licence plate BNEV917.
