Why publish letters against nuclear energy?

-

Why were two anti-nuclear letters published Dec. 2 that are contradicted by science and engineering papers of more than 20 years?

We face a global warming crisis far bigger than the pandemic. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in its 2018 Summary “Global Warming for Policy Makers” indicates that nuclear power must expand.

A huge expansion of nuclear power generation is critical in the war on greenhouse gasses that threatens to cook humanity off the planet.

And yet, the letters were published? Why? It’s like giving oxygen to people who question vaccinations.
