MLS award goes to group for first time
Black Players for Change, the group that has Toronto FC fullback Justin Morrow as its executive director, was named the 2020 MLS Works Humanitarian of the Year. This is the first time the award has gone to a group rather than an individual since it was first handed out in 2000. Black Players for Change, which was announced on Juneteenth, was created to advance the attention on human rights inequalities from protest to programs, partnerships and policies that address systemic racism.
