O’Toole must rein in MP Sloan’s petitioning
Re Don’t play to anti-vax fears, Editorial, Dec. 7 I am deeply disturbed by Conservative MP Derek Sloan’s petition claiming that the COVID-19 vaccines are unsafe.
After living through almost 10 months of COVID-19 and watching the number of cases growing daily, I believe that the vaccines are the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel.
If Sloan chooses not to get vaccinated when vaccines are readily available, that is his choice.
However, when you are a sitting MP, you should not be able to make unfounded statements about vaccine safety and add credence to unsupported claims.
Erin O’Toole should not allow Sloan to continue to push his petition.
