McCallion could teach Ford a lesson or two on planning

Re Hazel McCallion envisioned Mississauga’s success,

After reading the excellent article by Dave Wilkes on how Hazel McCallion made Mississauga such a successful city, it occurred to me that Premier Doug Ford could take a lesson from her.

Her vision involved city planning with complete communities with residential, work and commercial spaces as well as parks and recreational facilities, schools and amenities. Communities being the key word.

If Ford would let city planners and environmental assessments do their jobs instead of overriding them with his Ministerial Zoning Orders, Toronto would be a more liveable city. Jane White, Scarborough
