Re Mining claims a ‘threat’ to Grassy Narrows, Apr. 12

It is with great shock and dismay that I read that the First Nation of Grassy Narrows is under threat once again by a new danger to the land they live and work on through an influx of prospectors “eager to start exploratory drilling” for gold, without any prior consultation or even notification.

I urge the federal government to establish immediately the “Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area” already proposed, and the provincial government, which seems to be determined to sacrifice any natural land, around the GTA and in the unspoiled northern forests, to commercial exploitation, to stop any further mining activity until this problem is resolved.
