Great escape
This fox was on the run in the Beach yesterday before making her way to a rooftop. To find out why, see
Left: A mother fox sits atop a garage where she sought refuge after a near-death run-in with a coyote in the park near Woodbine Beach. Two photographers were on their daily walk along the Boardwalk before sunrise Thursday when a fox passed with a coyote in hot pursuit. Minutes later, they were startled to hear the anguished cries of the fox atop a garage, supposedly sending out the alarm that the coyote was hunting in the park and telling her kits not to venture out.
Above: The fox stayed for at least half an hour before descending, picking up the animal she had killed before the coyote arrived and walking back to her den to feed her pups.
