Booking a vaccine appointment isn’t that easy

-

Premier Doug Ford says booking a vaccine appointment is easy. Well, not always.

I’m a web designer so I know my way around a website. Yet when I found out I was eligible for the AstraZenica vaccine, I registered with my local pharmacy for myself and my husband. That was over three weeks ago, and I’ve still not heard a peep.

Then, my age group could make an appointment. No less than seven times I put in my postal code, filled in my health card number, front and back, then my contact details, to come to a calendar. Each time I got there, only five days were available but all were filled. I finally found out the phone number and called. At first, the friendly woman said there were no appointments but then suddenly found them.

I asked her how she had appointments when the website didn’t. She said “Oh, there was another calendar behind that calendar.” Say what?

I’ve saved the phone number for when my husband is eligible and I can book him. But finding out when you are eligible and then navigating their website with hidden calendars is far from easy.

My clients wouldn’t be pleased if I hid important information behind other information. Mary Sullivan, Lindsay, Ont.
