FIREFIGHTER AND TV PERSONALITY KEVIN WENDT, @KEVIN.C.WENDT
What activities are helping you feel a sense of normalcy this spring?
“My job as a firefighter has been the steady in my life. It has always been a safety-first job, but now more than ever we are always sure to be disinfecting and keeping distance when possible to stay as safe as we can while at work. We always wipe down the high-traffic surfaces first thing in the a.m. with Clorox Disinfecting Wipes as well.”
What sports or activities are you looking forward to getting back into this spring, and how will you do them safely?
“I am most looking forward to getting back on the ice and playing some hockey. That will be the first thing I do when it’s safe to do so. I think sharing water bottles with teammates is a thing of the past, and I plan on being more aware of the potential of spreading viruses when at organized sporting events.”
When you do go out, what items do you always carry with you?
“It used to be just keys, wallet and phone with me. Now that I’m engaged to a very responsible woman [Astrid Loch], she always has us equipped with hand sanitizer and Clorox On-The-Go Disinfecting Wipes. We always have our glove compartment stocked and use them every time we get in the car. She takes good care of me!”
What are you looking forward to most about getting back to travel?
“We are huge on travel and it’s the thing we miss most through this whole pandemic. We have always been big on disinfecting hard surfaces like our seats, arm rests and screens on the plane before we sit down but I think now travel will be safer than ever with everyone having that same mindset. We are most excited for the borders to open back up so we can go visit family in Florida. It’s been way too long!”
What’s an everyday activity you can’t wait to do?
“My big thing is the gym. I don’t feel as healthy or social without my daily hour at the gym.”
