LAURA ELLEN ANDREWS 1951 – 2021

Andrews graduated from Ryerson and had an early career with the CBC, where she worked on shows such as “The Galloping Gourmet” and “90 Minutes Live with Peter Gzowski.” She left the CBC to help her brother establish Wagner Andrews and Kovacs, a real estate appraisal company, in 1992. She retired in 2008, and began a third career taking care of her mother and doing volunteer work. While living in Markham, she became involved with the Fusion Gala for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. In 2013 she made the bold decision to move to Cobourg where she purchased a house that truly became a comfy and cosy home.

BARBARA MAY BARNES 1928 – 2021

Barnes married her husband, Don, in 1947. After their first 17 years of marriage, she had 12 children, so Don, known as the “Scarborough Egg Man” placed a birth notice in the Toronto Star announcing: “We sell them by the dozen and so we have them by the dozen.” Barnes spent her days looking after her family, and taught them to love nature and to look after each other. She enjoyed playing the piano and crafts. Barnes always greeted you with a smile, and lent a patient and sympathetic ear.

BRUCE ALLAN BARTH 1927 - 2021

Barth was the son of a pharmacist father. He was a graduate of University of Toronto in pharmacy and enjoyed a long and successful career as an executive with several multinational pharmaceutical companies. Barth travelled with family all over the world and lived and worked in seven countries on five continents before retiring, first in the Bahamas and, finally, in Florida. His passions were family, friends, pets, laughter, travel, fine cuisine and celebrating life. His generosity to everyone he knew was limitless, as was his love of a good story.
