Blue Jays starter José Berríos might not miss a start after leaving Tuesday’s game with abdominal tightness on his right side. The 27-year-old righthander played catch before Wednesday’s win and declared: “Today I feel really good.”

The good news came on a special day for Berríos and manager Charlie Montoyo in particular. The proud Puerto Ricans were among those sporting No. 21 on Roberto Clemente Day in the majors, honouring the Hall of Fame right-fielder who died in a plane crash in 1972.

“Today means a lot for Puerto Ricans but also for all Latin guys, playing this beautiful sport,” Berríos said.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (photo), George Springer, Clemente award nominee Bo Bichette and third-base coach Luis Rivera also wore No. 21.
