Pendrith graduates to the PGA Tour, increasing Canadian contingent to 10

Corey Conners: Canada’s highest-ranked male golfer (32nd) will likely play just a few times this fall with his first child due. The Listowel, Ont., golfer had 19 finishes in the top 25 out of 29 tournaments this past season.

Mackenzie Hughes: The native of Dundas, Ont. had solid results in the majors last season (in the final group on Sunday at the U.S. Open and tied for sixth at the Open Championship) with four top-10 finishes overall.

Nick Taylor: Although the Abbotsford, B.C., golfer finished outside the top 125 in the FedExCup standings, he’s fully exempt thanks to a win at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2019. Taylor is a two-time winner on the PGA Tour, but had just one top-10 finish last season.

Adam Hadwin: Another product of Abbotsford, B.C., Hadwin struggled last season after myriad swing changes. He cracked the top 125 in the FedExCup standings thanks to two top-10 results in his final three starts.

Adam Svensson: A two-time winner on the Korn Ferry Tour last season, the Surrey, B.C. native returns after losing his PGA card following his 2019 rookie year.

Taylor Pendrith: Pendrith will be the lone Canadian rookie, but his success at other levels suggests he could contend right out of the gate.

Michael Gligic: The Burlington golfer returns after a solid stretch during the Korn Ferry finals (finishing 19th after three events, with the top 25 earning or retaining PGA Tour status). His best result as a PGA rookie was a tie for fourth at the Corales Puntacana event in March.

Roger Sloan: The Merritt, B.C. product sprinted to the finish line last season, making six straight PGA Tour cuts with top-10 finishes in his final two events, including a tie for second at the Wyndham Championship.

David Hearn: At 42, the Brantford golfer is Canada’s elder statesman on tour. He finished 163rd in the standings last season and will begin this season on a minor medical exemption after an undisclosed procedure.

Graham DeLaet: The Weyburn, Sask., golfer remains sidelined with a severe back injury and has just over 20 events to retain his card. If he returns, he’ll be playing off a major medical exemption.
