DON VALLEY NORTH

- Ben Cohen

Han Dong has won the riding of Don Valley North for the Liberals.

Dong has represented the riding in the House of Commons since 2019. Prior to that, he was MPP for the former riding of Trinity-Spadina from 2014 to 2018. In the 2018 election, Trinity-Spadina became SpadinaFort York, and Dong was unseated by NDP candidate Chris Glover.

Dong still resides in the Spadina-Fort York area.

Dong successfully fended off challenges from Conservative Sabrina Zuniga, a consultant, New Democrat Bruce Griffin, a retired film editor and Green candidate Natalie Telfer, a former bookkeeper who now works at Community Living. Dong serves as co-chair of the Canada-China Legislative Association.

The riding has a population of slightly over 110,000, of whom 62 per cent are immigrants. Fifteen per cent of the riding immigrated from China and 31 per cent identify as Chinese.
