MISSISSAUGA LAKE SHORE

- Alex McKeen

Sven Spengemann wins Mississauga—Lakeshore.

The Liberal incumbent has held the seat since 2015. It has historically been a swing riding between the Liberals and Conservatives.

Prior to entering politics, Spengemann worked as a policy analyst and legal adviser, including for the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq. The latter service earned him a gold key alumni award from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Spengemann was challenged by Michael Ras, a first-time Conservative candidate. Ras is director of government and stakeholder relations at Meridian Credit Union. He is also a volunteer with youth and veterans.

The Greens ran Elizabeth Robertson, a graduate student with government experience, while registered nurse Sarah Walji carried the banner for the NDP.

Vahid Seyfaie ran for the People’s Party.
