Pratt to lead in ‘Super Mario’ flick
Chris Pratt is becoming a plumber.
The voice cast of the film adaptation of the legendary video game series “Super Mario Bros.” was announced Thursday night and features an allstar lineup of some of Hollywood’s brightest stars.
Pratt, known for his starring roles in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the “Jurassic World” franchise, is starring as the iconic Mario, while “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” star Charlie Day will be voicing his on-screen brother, Luigi.
Also joining the cast is “The Queen’s Gambit” star Anya Taylor-Joy, who will be playing everyone’s favourite damsel in distress, Princess Peach. Jack Black will be starring alongside her as Bowser.
The “Super Mario Bros.” film is being produced by Nintendo and Illumination, the same studio responsible for hits like the “Despicable Me” franchise.
