Huawei executive should compensate two Michaels

-

Re Experts dispute that Canadians’ release was coincidence, Sept. 27

Canadians are breathing a collective sigh of relief as the two Michaels arrive home. Credit for their safe return rests both with our government and their vocal families who continued to advocate for their release.

Now, I suggest that Huawei and Meng Wanzhou owe a duty of care for the two Michaels, whose lives were derailed and forever changed as they became collateral damage for the China telecom executive.

As she may not be keen to travel to Canada much in the near future, perhaps donating the humble $13.7-million house that was her jail to the two Canadians may be a small gesture of good will from Meng.
