DONALD JACK McBRIDE

-

Don set sail on his Јnal journey early morning of Thursday, October 7, 2021. With his family by his side, he peacefully and quietly left to be with his parents Jack McBride and Estelle McBride (nee Kendal).

Don was born in Toronto, Ontario, on September 28, 1933 and lived there all his life. He and his wife, Jean Amory McBride, have just celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary.

Don leaves behind his beloved baby brother Raymond and his wife Lorea whom he counted on for advice and love and support. Don was father to Јve children who will miss him very much. Colleen (Michael), Cheryl (Ron), John (Julie), Jennifer (Grant) and Jasmine could always count on Dad to provide advice, opinions, stories, and a loan if you needed it. He was generous that way and helped out many people. Don has 8 beautiful grandchildren, Carl, Kelsey, Conor, Aaron, Taylor, Melissa, Addison and Curtis, but, much to his dismay, no greatgrandchildren.

Don also leaves behind his greatest love, and that is his business (sorry family). He loved his work and his work family. When we encouraged him to slow down, maybe retire and travel, he would look at us like we had two heads and ask "and what would I do with myself all day long?" He vowed he would work until it wasn't fun any more, so I guess he was enjoying himself till the very end.

As a family, we would like to thank Don Henderson (Anna) and George McCabe (Tracy) for all their love and support for Don for such a long time. He only had wonderful things to say about both of you. And we wish to thank Don's Driftwood Cove family for the endless laughs you had with Don. You know the 'weekend vacation Don' so well. He loved being there with you.

We would like to invite anyone who wishes to celebrate Don's full and wonderful life, to join his family at BluЇers Restaurant, 7 Brimley Road South, Scarborough, on Friday, October 15th any time between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. Bring your stories and raise a toast to a lovely gentleman. In lieu of Љowers, you may make a donation to Michael Garron Hospital or to an animal shelter of your choice.
