36-year-old man killed in Brampton shooting

An overnight shooting in Brampton has left one man dead, Peel police said Tuesday.

Police tweeted they received a call shortly before 1 a.m. about the shooting at Dixie Road and Peter Robertson Boulevard and, at about 2:30 a.m., police said the victim succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as 36year-old Amanjot Bains.

Police have said they are looking for a suspect who fled the scene in a red vehicle.

The homicide and missing persons bureaus are investigating the shooting.
