Energy, as a climate change issue, is about consumption
Re Increased home-heating costs were preventable, Oct. 9
With much respect to columnist David Olive, there’s a gross oversight in his otherwise excellent work: conservation.
That is to say, managing to reduce demand through avoidance of use of the product through better consumption, or not using it at all.
It can feel like we’re doing about as well in conservation of energy and reduction of greenhouse gasses (GHGs) (including basic building and materials conservation), as we’re doing in providing smarter transit in a timely way.
In other words, we are not doing well.
