Kenyan Olympian stabbed, found dead

Kenyan distance runner and Olympian Agnes Tirop was found dead in her home in western Kenya on Wednesday. Tirop, 25, was discovered after her father reported her missing on Tuesday night. She had been stabbed in the neck, according to local police. The BBC reported she also had stab wounds in her stomach. Tirop’s husband is missing and Kenyan police are treating him as a suspect. Tirop was a two-time world championship bronze medallist in the 10,000 metres and finished fourth in the 5,000 metres at the Tokyo Olympics.
