Wilson-Raybould an award finalist

Former MP Jody WilsonRayb­ould’s memoir detailing her tumultuous tenure as justice minister is among four titles shortliste­d for the $60,000 Balsillie Prize for Public Policy.

The new award, backed by former BlackBerry CEO Jim Balsillie, will be awarded on Nov. 24 to the best non-fiction book shaping Canadian discourse about public policy.

Besides Wilson-Raybould’s “‘Indian’ in the Cabinet: Speaking Truth to Power,” the nominees include “Neglected No More: The Urgent Need to Improve the Lives of Canada’s Elders in the Wake of a Pandemic” by André Picard; “Innovation in Real Places: Strategies for Prosperity in an Unforgivin­g World” by Dan Breznitz; and “On Borrowed Time: North America’s Next Big Quake” by Gregor Craigie.
