Workers slowly trickle back

The proportion of employees working from home has followed the waves of the pandemic, with more workers at home during periods of intense public-health restrictions. Fewer Canadians are working from home now than during the early days of the pandemic in April 2020 or the height of lockdowns in early 2021, but the pace of workers returning to the office has slowed in recent months. Statistics Canada says 4.1 million people worked mostly from home in September 2021, compared with 4.2 million the same time a year earlier.
