TOP THREE: FACTS ABOUT MAZDA’S FIRST EV

- For more great lists visit Wheels.ca

Sustainability: The MX-30 has a smaller battery than most EVs, which means a smaller carbon footprint. The seats are also made from 20 per cent recyclable materials.

Range: Due to the smaller battery, the MX-30’s range is less than most EVS, at 161 km, comparable to the Nissan Leaf. Mazda says most EV users have a second car for longer trips anyway.

Engine: While there is spare space in the engine bay, which is sometimes used for cargo space in other EVs, it is meant to be used for the installation of a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Wheelbase Media
