Canadians need to send strong signal to Michigan’s governor

-

Re Canadians welcome upcoming reopening of CanadaU.S. land border, Oct. 14

Canadians will have the opportunity to drive across the border and spend money in the U.S.

However, we Canadians should avoid going to Michigan, as that state wants to cut off our home heating fuel this winter. If Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gets her wish to shut down Line 5, most residents of Ontario will be cut off from natural gas, propane and oil used to heat our homes. We should not be rewarding Michigan businesses with our money when we’ll likely need it to pay exorbitant home heating costs. Peter Honeyborne, Coboconk, Ont.
