Getting back to office life is important
Re Keeping social bonds strong, Editorial, Oct. 18
The editorial on “bowling alone” was bang on; the sooner we get those who work in office towers back “safely within reason,” the better.
Recently, Mayor John Tory announced the requirement for all city staff to be double-vaccinated be end of October. It pains me to see near-empty office complexes downtown and nearempty subway trains when I still go there, as a retired worker, for my dentist appointments.
It’s high time “bowling alone” be transformed into “bowling together” for improved personal health, social well-being, effectiveness, for reducing stress, for setting an example to your children, and for getting those many businesses running again that relied on these thousands of vacant office workers.
