A new highway for trucks alone could work
Driving a car at 110 to 120 km/h, sandwiched between crushingly massive, heavy trucks on all sides, is now a common occurrence on the all-day rush hour that is the 401.
A daily commute that was once a tolerable ritual is now bumper to bumper, stop and go, exhausting, dangerous and frightening.
Meanwhile, Premier Doug Ford want us to fund a new highway to “solve” a road density problem that it will only exacerbate.
If a new highway’s going to be built, I propose it be built exclusively for truck. And the trucking industry should pay for it.
Imagine a 401 free of large trucks.
