Destreaming our high schools lets students succeed

School boards begin preparations for a fully destreamed Grade 9 in 2022, Nov. 26

I highly support the idea of destreaming. As a former student, I realized the cons of applied and academic courses, and how it may affect students in the future. Placing people into two different classrooms where it’s apparent which one of the two is gaining the better education could ruin opportunities. Some students that age don’t know their true potential.
