Putting kids back in class could not be more wrong

-

Is sending kids back to school an A+ move?, Jan. 12

Will the failure of the Doug Ford government to manage this pandemic ever end? Apparently not. Their announcement of students returning to class on Monday could not be more wrong.

Ontario students have been out of the classroom for more than 26 weeks, more than any other jurisdiction during this pandemic, which demonstrates the provincial government’s continuing failure to manage this.

We all agree that it’s crucial that children be in school, but at this point in time, what’s the rush?

Omicron is skyrocketing and out of control.

Putting 25 people in a room daily will only make it much worse.

What a horrible burden to put on parents to decide what to do, just roll the dice with their children’s health.

Doesn’t this government watch the news?

The U.S. is reporting skyrocketing pediatric COVID-19 cases, and that trend is beginning here. Thousands of children will get COVID-19 and some may die.

All because our government doesn’t have a clue.
