Horses serve useful policing purposes

-

Should police on horseback ride into sunset?, Jan. 11

I agree that mounted patrols are an integral part of our police services. After all, the horse is the original all-terrain vehicle that can access places that patrol cars or even bicycles cannot reach.

Horses can get through rough terrain such as creeks, hills, low obstacles and so can cover hardto-reach places, as well as exercise crowd control and serve for regular patrols.

As for the byproduct of horse poop, if you happen to come across any, just shovel that up and take it to till into your garden plot! That’s good fertilizer.

So, you see, there are many practical aspects of having horses patrol our streets.

Let’s keep horses as part of our police services.
