Doug Ford forgets ‘the little guy’ in his vote-buying plot

-

Rivals slam Ford’s licence plate plan, Feb. 9

Ford long ago cancelled the electric vehicle (EV) rebate. He also stated that he did not want to give “rebates to guys that are buying $100,000cars — “millionaires,” while ignoring both the environmental benefits and benefits to Ontario automotive manufacturers and parts makers. Now he wants to eliminate the cost of renewing licence plates.

Lost in both of these decisions is any benefit to help the “little guy,” those of us who do not own cars.

What I see is a blatant vote-buying tactic at the expense of the taxpayer and the “little guy,” for whom he purports to fight.
