Nifty socks

Portugal-based Heel Tread has created a variety of unique socks and underwear designs that focus on classic vehicles and combat aircraft. The automotive versions focus mainly on Grand Prix and road-racing cars, including those from Lotus, Brabham, Ferrari, Ford and Porsche. For a touch of whimsy, Heel Tread has “Back to the Future” themed men’s briefs available, featuring the DeLorean DMC-12. Socks prices start at about $14 per pair, while underwear sells for about $36 each. Gift packs are also available. Check out the selection and purchase at heeltread.com.

Steering wheels

If you thought there was button clutter on the average new-car steering wheel, then you should see what’s on the wheel of a Formula One race car. The Amalgam Collection sells full-size and onequarter-scale replicas of the steering wheels found in Ferrari, McLaren and Red Bull Formula One machines. The company said the wheels are handmade and come mounted to their own display bases. Covers are included. A full-scale wheel is priced in the $6,000 (U.S.) range, while the one-quarter scale versions sell for about $245 each. Review the entire line of wheels at amalgamcollection.com.
