Astoundingly, former Conservative leader Tim Hudak, now of the Ontario Real Estate Association, wants to see a crackdown on “dirty money” and money-laundering via Ontario’s real estate market.
Two important recent books on dirty money, “Kleptopia,” and “Wilful Blindness,” both have mentions of Toronto.
I do wonder for how many decades have we been enabling a cleaning up of dirty funds.
I hope the Star will get even more involved in figuring out the extent of this market contamination.
