Canada pays an Alberta tax when oil prices are high

Jason Kenney and his supporters like to say that the rest of Canada takes advantage of Alberta through the federal equalizati­on program, but they don’t mention that when oil prices are high, the rest of Canada basically pays an “Alberta tax” every time they fill up with gas or buy anything that is transporte­d by petroleum-using vehicles, whether it be produce or other products.
