Voting reform should be priority, Letter to the Editor, May 20
I fully agree with letter writer Alan Trufal that voting reform should be a priority in this and every election until we get a proportional voting system both provincially and federally.
In Ontario’s elections, my vote has not counted for many years because it doesn’t elect anyone that can exert influence over our false majority governments.
So, like many others, I am forced to vote strategically “against” parties to keep them from getting false majority rule for another four years.
This is a very negative approach to voting, but it is my only option under our current “winner take all” system and until we have reform to a proportional system where my vote would actually count. Gerrard Weedon, Toronto
