Siakam named to all-NBA third team

- DOUG SMITH

It was a season of discovery for Pascal Siakam, discovery of personality traits he wasn’t certain he had, discovery of basketball skills that had been dormant for a season or so, discovery of a total package that has once again placed him amongst the NBA’s truly elite.

The Raptors forward was named to the third all-NBA team on Tuesday night, a very public recognition of a return to form and a still emerging game.

It is the second time the 28-yearold has been honoured by a voting panel of 100 media members who regularly cover the league. The native of Cameroon was a secondteam all-NBAer in 2020 and joins former Raptors Kawhi Leonard, DeMar DeRozan, Vince Carter, Chris Bosh and Kyle Lowry to be named to what’s considered the true all-star teams because they cover an entire season.

There were 100 members of the voting panel comprising writers and broadcasters who cover the league. Votes had to be cast for two guards, two forwards and a centre for each of three teams.
