Three people, including two teenagers, are dead after a two-vehicle collision in Milton early Saturday morning.

Police said the deceased include an 18-year-old man from Milton and a 16-year-old girl from Brampton, who were travelling together in a black Infiniti G35 vehicle. The third deceased person was a 26year-old man from Milton who was in the second vehicle, described as a black Honda CRV. All three were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Halton Regional Police Service said the crash happened at Sixth Line and Derry Road around 3:20 a.m.

“Our heartfelt condolences are extended to the families affected by these tragic losses,” police said.

In a video posted to social media, two cars are seen in what appears to be the collision’s fiery aftermath. One of the cars appears fully engulfed in flames. Heavy smoke can be seen as emergency crews work to put out the fire.

Irfan Mohammad, a witness who filmed the aftermath of the crash and posted the video online, said he was driving by the scene as police began arriving. He immediately pulled out his phone and began recording.

“I was worried about the people. Both cars caught on fire. It was so quick,” Mohammad said.

Mohammad added that he has been driving on that road for over a decade.

“It’s a busy road; it’s not like normal roads,” he said.

Police closed Derry Road from Trafalgar Road to Fifth Line to conduct their investigation. It reopened by early Saturday afternoon.

Given the severity of the crash, the force’s collision reconstruction unit has assumed control of the investigation, police said.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation, according to police. Witnesses or anyone with dash-cam footage have been asked to contact police at 905-825-4747 ext. 5065, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
