Meghan appeared to be a little confused by royal protocol on her first official outing without her husband Prince Harry on Thursday.

The newest member of the Royal Family was accompanying the Queen to an event in Cheshire, England, when she appeared to blank on car etiquette. As the pair prepared to get into their waiting Bentley the former actress asked the 92-year-old monarch who should get into the car first.

“What is your preference?” The Duchess of Sussex asked.

“You go first,” the Queen replied.

While Markle may be flustered her protocol mishap was caught on camera, etiquette coach William Hanson took to Twitter to say it was really no big deal.

“Not big faux pas on HRH The Duchess of Sussex’s side — just an innocent lack of knowledge.”
