Fatal car crash in Scarborough result of street racing?

Toronto Sun - - NEWS -

Toronto police are investigating whether street racing was to blame for a fatal crash in Scarborough.

Const. Rob Reid says one driver died on McCowan Rd., just south of Ellesmer Rd., after a car slammed into a telephone pole around 10 p.m. Saturday.

“Witnesses are telling us that this car and another car were travelling at what they say is a high rate of speed, “said Reid. “The driver of the second vehicle didn’t leave the scene and stuck around and spoke to police and spoke to investigators at the scene. I think it’s being investigated to see if there was possible street racing involved.”

Police did not release information about the dead driver.
