Bantam A Mariners split games

The Yarmouth Mariners will be hosting Pictou on Friday night and Woodstock on Saturday night in MHL hockey action.

Both games at the Mariners Centre start at 7:30 p.m.

The Mariners are coming off two wins in both of their games last week, which included a 4-2 Jan. 25 win over Pictou and a 5-2 Jan. 26 win over Valley.

The Mariners sit in first place in the Eastlink South Division with 53 points, gaining some more ground over the South Shore Lumberjack­s who are in second place in the division with 50 points.

In the Eastlink North Division Edmundston sits atop that division, as well as the league, with 57 pints.

The West Pubnico Pharmasave Bantam A Mariners played Clare/ Digby in a league game on Jan. 26, losing 7-2.

Scoring for Yarmouth were Owen Penney and Ben LeBlanc. An assist went to Tanner Nickerson. In nets was Emma Swansburg.

Goal scorers for Clare/Digby were not supplied.

The Bantam A Mariners then played Western Valley in a league game on Jan. 27, scoring a 7-3 victory.

Goals for Yarmouth came from Chandler LeBlanc and Connor Prouty who each had a pair, Tyler MacLeod, Tanner Nickerson and Jaden Kerr. Assists went to Tanner Nickerson (2), Jaden Kerr (2), Ethan Saulnier (2), Ben LeBlanc, Tyler MacLeod, Connor Prouty, Jessie Amiro, Caleb Long and Owen Penney.
