HURLBURT, Michael James “Mike” - 59, Deer­field, passed away Septem­ber 11, 2018 in the Yar­mouth Re­gional Hos­pi­tal, af­ter a short bat­tle with can­cer. Born November 8, 1958 in Yar­mouth he was a son to the late Lock and Eleanor (Bur­rill) Hurlburt. Mike worked out west for a num­ber of years. He was a hard worker, but al­ways made time for his fam­ily, whom he loved dearly. As one would say he would give you the shirt off his back. He had a great sense of hu­mour, loved go­ing in the woods, work­ing on ve­hi­cles and keep­ing a clean, well main­tained yard. One of his fa­vorite pass times was spend­ing time with Jaiden, Tris­tan and Ava. He also loved talk­ing on the phone with Dar­rell and Paul. He is sur­vived by his lov­ing wife 29 years Linda (Wood); daugh­ters, Jen­naya (Bran­den Jarvis), Yar­mouth; Jen­nifer (Adam) d’En­tremont, Yar­mouth; 2 grand­chil­dren; broth­ers, Wil­liam

“Bill” (Donna), Pem­brook; Frank (Rose), He­bron; Don­nie (Liz), Car­leton; Howard (Brenda), Deer­field; Char­lie (Mar­i­lyn), Plas­ter Rock, NB; Brian (Denni), NB; sis­ters, Rose (Ron) Spencer, Kentville; Polly Hurlburt, Kentville; Jean (Kevin Amon), Digby; Mar­jorie (Kevin Ro­bicheau), Kentville; brother and sis­ter-in-law, Joanne and Mike Wood, Hub­bard’s Point; fa­ther and mother-in-law, Pe­ter and Phyl­lis Wood, Hub­bard’s Point; as well as many nieces and neph­ews. Be­sides his par­ents, he was pre­de­ceased by broth­ers, Ron­nie and David; sis­ter, Joan and sib­ling in in­fancy. Fu­neral ar­range­ments were en­trusted to Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home and Cre­ma­to­rium, Yar­mouth. Vis­i­ta­tion was held Fri­day, Septem­ber 14, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home Chapel. A fu­neral ser­vice was held Satur­day, Septem­ber 15, 2018 at 3 P.M. in Sweeny’s Fu­neral Home Chapel, Rev Kevin My­ers and Rev Robert Gates of­fi­ci­ated. In­ter­ment will take place at a later date in Riverview Ceme­tery on the Wil­son Road.
