- THECOASTGUARD.CA

The Osprey Arts Centre in Shelburne is hosting a fundraising Halloween party on Saturday, Oct. 27 starting 8 p.m.

The Osprey board of directors is organizing this fun, casual event to help raise funds for the 2018 season of programming at the Osprey. The evening includes music for dancing, and there will be a slide show to create a spooky Halloween atmosphere.

A light buffet made by volunteers is included in the ticket price. Anyone who would like to contribute to the buffet is invited to bring a plate of finger food.

The bar will be featuring special drinks with a Halloween theme. There will also be a photo booth, especially for those in costume who would like memories of the evening.

While costumes are optional, the Osprey encourages everyone to have fun and be creative.

There are three big upcoming events at the Osprey which this fundraiser supports.

The Lockeport Players presents ‘Lest We Forget: Letters from the Front Line’ on Saturday, Nov. 10. It’s a moving collection of wartime letters, stories and music.

The Hupman Brothers Band makes a triumphant return to their hometown of Shelburne on Saturday, Nov. 24.

On the following Saturday, Dec. 1, the folk duo Naming the Twins – Robbie Smith and Kathleen Glauser – releases their ‘Sing the Winter Away’ CD.

Those who’d like to keep up with what’s happening can sign up for regular emails from the Osprey. The website has the details for upcoming events, as well as the email sign-up link.
