Fourth annual event to take place Nov. 22 at Par-en-Bas school
Heather Rankin will be taking to the stage at the Lockeport Regional High School on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. as part of the Harmony Bazaar Festival of Women & Song Society Winter Concert Series.
The concert will be the second event in the Harmony Bazaar winter concert series, which is being revived this year, said spokesperson Garrett Chetwynd.
“Earlier this month we showcased many local talents at a well attended coffee house and open mike, held in Crescent Beach Centre,” said Chetwynd. “It has been a couple of years since Harmony Bazaar has hosted events outside of our summer festival, so this is a rejuvenation of our Winter Concert Series, if you will.”
Chetwynd said the society is currently working on plans for further events for the winter concert series to take place in the new year.
“We are also excited to announce that plans are well underway for Harmony Bazaar 2019 festival being held July 26 and 27. Although specific acts aren’t yet booked, we plan to incorporate music, art and theatre, as well as educational workshops in next year’s festival,” Chetwynd said. “The public can expect tickets to go on sale for Harmony Bazaar 2019 in March and headlining acts will be announced by then as well.”
This will be the second time Rankin has performed in Lockeport. The Cape Breton singer/songwriter was the headliner at the 2016 Harmony Bazaar Festival, following the release of her debut solo album, A Fine Line.
