Longtime birder Mark Dennis to speak at Nov. 27 meeting in Yarmouth
The next meeting of the Nova Scotia Bird Society’s southwest chapter will feature a presentation by Cape Sable Island birder Mark Dennis about his birding adventure in Australia.
The meeting will be held Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Yarmouth County Museum and Archives, 22 Collins St.
Dennis’s talk is titled Australia – A Long Way From Home.
Dennis started birding 52 years ago in the United Kingdom. He has worked for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and as a countryside ranger in Nottinghamshire.
In 2003, Dennis and his wife Sandra moved to Quebec and, in 2015, to Cape Sable Island.
Dennis has birded in 27 countries and published eight birding eBooks that are available online for free or for the price of a cup of coffee.
The Nov. 27 meeting of the Nova Scotia Bird Society’s southwest chapter is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
