Bantam A girls

The Yarmouth Scotiabank Western Riptide White Bantam A girls went undefeated on the road this past weekend. The Riptide beat Metro West Force Red on Saturday, winning 3-0. Jorden Nickerson had a goal and an assist, while Brandee Goodwin and Karli MacDonald had the other two goals. Chloe Swaine and Ocean Sears each had an assist.

On Sunday they faced Metro East Inferno Red and won 1-0. Emily Crosby scored the lone goal with the assist by Ocean Sears. Both shutouts go to Sophie Thimot in net.

Peewee A girls

The Western Riptide white peewee A played one game at home this past weekend against Metro East Inferno gold for an 8-2 win. Katie Atkinson had a hat-trick. Issabelle d’Entremont had 2 goals. Renee Olsen, Kalli Goreham and Marissa Fevens each had one goal. The assists went to Marissa Fevens, Alyssa Boudreau-Poole, Kalli Goreham, Kiersten Kenney, Issabelle d’Entremont, Mercedes Melanson, Allie Dugas, Isabel Doucette and Renee Olsen. Chloe Surette was in net.

Peewee AAA

The Yarmouth Chris Scott Constructi­on Peewee AAA Mariners split a pair of games with the Pictou County Crushers this past weekend during NSMHL action.

Saturday at Mariners Centre saw the visiting Crushers edge the hometown Mariners 5-3. Cameron Barnes, Dakota Ryer and Jared Pitman scored single goals. Despite carrying much of the play, a few sloppy Mariner turnovers and some solid netminding from the sharp Pictou County goalie Jorga Borrows, kept the Yarmouth squad from grabbing a victory. Jessica Mackinnon and Dominic Jacquard picked up assists during the loss.

The return matchup on Sunday morning had the Mariners double the visiting Pictou County squad 4-2. Jessica Mackinnon had a game to remember, notching all four of the goals during the win. Assists came from Sam Hope (3), Jared Pitman (2) and Dawson O’Connell.

The coaching also acknowledg­ed the solid efforts from defencemen Dylan d’Entremont, Koen Shand, Max Darcy, Cameron Barnes, Nolan Cottreau and Dawson O’Connell.

This makes the Mariners 5-3-1 for a third place standing in league play. This weekend the Yarmouth squad hits the road for a pair of league games with the second place Crushers in New Glasgow.

Bantam A

Nova’s Finest Fisheries Bantam A Mariners hosted West Hants on Saturday and Sunday.

In net for the mariners on Saturday was Tayvon Gabriel Tyler MacLeod had two goals with assists from Chase Perry, Luke MacLeay and Shawn Deon. The final score was 3-2 for West Hants.

In net for the Mariners on Sunday was Braeden Hipson. Chandler LeBlanc scored the lone goal with assists from Drew Goreham and Nolan Saulnier. Final Score was 5-1 for West Hants.

Bantam B

This past weekend saw the SeaYa Fisheries Mariners and the West Hants Warriors Bantam B teams split the weekend.

Saturday saw the Mariners come out swinging with a 5-3 win. Scoring for Yarmouth were Landon Watkins (AJ Deveau, Colby Saulnier), Isaac Tunnicliff (unassisted), Christian Lowe (Toby d’Entremont, Kaylob Doucet-D’eon). Jessie Amiro scored the final two goals with assists from Isaac Tunnicliff, Landon Watkins, Blake Lyons and Colby Saulnier.

Sunday’s game was a 6-1 loss with Jessie Amiro scoring the lone goal with an assist from Tyler Adams. This weekend the Sea-Ya Fisheries Mariners face Western Valley on Saturday for a double header at home at 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. On Sunday they host Liverpool for a 11:30 a.m. puck drop.

Atom AA

The Yarmouth Sweeny’s Funeral Home Atom AA Mariners played three away games this past weekend as they visited Antigonish and Pictou.

In Game 1 on Saturday the Mariners lost to Antigonish 5-2. Colby d’Eon and Marcel Jacquard each scored.

In Game 2 on Sunday the Mariners lost to Pictou 4-3. Colby d’Eon scored two goals, Cullen Fitzgerald had one goal. Assists went to Lex d’Entremont and Parker LeBlanc.

In Game 3 on Sunday the Mariners won against previously undefeated Pictou 4-3. Lex d’Entremont scored a hat-trick while Marcel Jacquard also scored a goal. Colby d’Eon added two assists and Brady Newell and Nixon Ross each had an assist. In net for all three games was Noah Muise.
