Eighth an­nual event runs un­til Dec. 22 at many lo­cal restau­rants

Coin­cid­ing with the start of the com­mer­cial lob­ster fish­ing in south­west­ern Nova Sco­tia is the eighth an­nual Lob­ster Splash that kicks off a cel­e­bra­tion of “all things lob­ster” at eater­ies through­out Yar­mouth & Aca­dian Shores.

YASTA en­cour­ages peo­ple to visit any par­tic­i­pat­ing eatery to ex­pe­ri­ence “mouth-wa­ter­ing” lob­ster dishes served in cre­ative ways.

Some of the dishes of­fered in­clude: Lob­ster Cous­cous from the Perky Owl, Surf and Turf Burger from Gaia Global Kitchen, Lob­ster Pou­tine from Mern’s Fam­ily Diner and Lob­ster Pizza from Jakes Fam­ily Restau­rant.

Lob­ster Splash founder and co­or­di­na­tor Madeleine Daues says she’s al­ways im­pressed with all the cre­ative dishes.

“It’s a fun event that cel­e­brates our amaz­ing lob­ster and culi­nary scene,” she says.

“Lob­ster Splash of­fers lots of choice for lob­ster lovers to de­vour tra­di­tional style dishes like lob­ster rolls or creamed lob­ster, but they can also en­joy this tasty crus­tacean in ways you might not have thought of. I love see­ing what the restau­rants come up with,” she adds.

Lob­ster Splash not only of­fers fresh de­li­cious lob­ster dishes but also a chance to win a lob­ster lovers prize pack­age. Par­tic­i­pants are en­cour­aged to share their lob­ster splash ad­ven­tures on so­cial me­dia and tag their pho­tos with #lob­ster­splash or #vis­ityas to be en­tered for a chance to win an overnight stay at the Rodd Grand Ho­tel and din­ner for two at the Hat­field House.
