Lobster Splash back on the menu
Eighth annual event runs until Dec. 22 at many local restaurants
Coinciding with the start of the commercial lobster fishing in southwestern Nova Scotia is the eighth annual Lobster Splash that kicks off a celebration of “all things lobster” at eateries throughout Yarmouth & Acadian Shores.
YASTA encourages people to visit any participating eatery to experience “mouth-watering” lobster dishes served in creative ways.
Some of the dishes offered include: Lobster Couscous from the Perky Owl, Surf and Turf Burger from Gaia Global Kitchen, Lobster Poutine from Mern’s Family Diner and Lobster Pizza from Jakes Family Restaurant.
Lobster Splash founder and coordinator Madeleine Daues says she’s always impressed with all the creative dishes.
“It’s a fun event that celebrates our amazing lobster and culinary scene,” she says.
“Lobster Splash offers lots of choice for lobster lovers to devour traditional style dishes like lobster rolls or creamed lobster, but they can also enjoy this tasty crustacean in ways you might not have thought of. I love seeing what the restaurants come up with,” she adds.
Lobster Splash not only offers fresh delicious lobster dishes but also a chance to win a lobster lovers prize package. Participants are encouraged to share their lobster splash adventures on social media and tag their photos with #lobstersplash or #visityas to be entered for a chance to win an overnight stay at the Rodd Grand Hotel and dinner for two at the Hatfield House.
