Prop­er­ties be­tween Doc­tor’s Cove and Woods Har­bour fea­tured in tour

Prop­er­ties be­tween Doc­tor’s Cove and Woods Har­bour are be­ing fea­tured in the 2018 Bar­ring­ton and Area Cham­ber of Com­merce an­nual Christ­mas House Tour.

The tour will take place Sun­day, Dec. 2 from 1 to 5 p.m.

The tour in­cludes three homes, a church and the his­toric IOOF Hall in Woods Har­bour, which is home to the Sa­muel Wood So­ci­ety and Mu­seum, where a Christ­mas tea will be hosted for tour go­ers.

Tick­ets for the house tour are avail­able in ad­vance and the day of the tour at Wil­son’s Home Hard­ware Build­ing Cen­tre in Bar­ring­ton Pas­sage. Tick­ets ($10 adult, $5 chil­dren) will also be avail­able the day of the house tour at the Sa­muel Wood Mu­seum. Pro­ceeds from the tour are do­nated to char­ity.

CAL­VARY UNITED BAP­TIST CHURCH

Start­ing with the Cal­vary United Bap­tist Church (# 6642, High­way 3, Woods Har­bour), tour go­ers are in for a treat. A liv­ing na­tiv­ity scene with back­drops painted by lo­cal artist Beryl Gore­ham will be fea­tured on the main floor. On the lower level spe­cial Christ­mas dec­o­ra­tions made by chil­dren will be on dis­play.

THE SMITH HOME

The home of Stephanie and Mark Smith (#580, Bear Point Road), is a split en­try level dec­o­rated in a con­tem­po­rary style with a lit­tle bit of coun­try mix which is sure to give tour go­ers that won­der­ful Christ­mas feel­ing.

THE BULLERWELL HOME

The home of Mar­garet and Jim Bullerwell, (#4646 High­way 3, Doc­tor’s Cove) is a two-bed­room bun­ga­low dec­o­rated in a warm coun­try style. A high­light of the tour will be Mar­garet’s im­pres­sive snow­man col­lec­tion, which fea­tures about 350 snow­men of all shapes, styles and sizes.

THE SEARS HOME

The unique six-bed­room home of Jodi Thomas and Robert Sears (#4122, High­way 3, Doc­tor’s Cove) is next on the list. The house will be dec­o­rated on the lower level for the tour with mod­ern con­tem­po­rary Christ­mas dé­cor which will lead into a cozy farm­house theme.

IOOF HALL

The his­toric IOOF Hall in Woods Har­bour, which is home to the Sa­muel Wood So­ci­ety and Mu­seum, is where tour go­ers will en­joy Christ­mas tea this year. Built in 1906, the build­ing has served the com­mu­nity in many ways over the years. Tour go­ers can also en­joy view­ing the many ar­ti­facts on dis­play at the mu­seum.
