Par-en-Bas ju­nior girls get sil­ver in re­gion­als

Yar­mouth County team reaches fi­nal but loses to host Bluenose Academy

École sec­ondaire de Paren-Bas of Tus­ket, Yar­mouth County, earned sil­ver medals at the tier 1 ju­nior girls vol­ley­ball re­gion­als held at Bluenose Academy on Nov. 28, los­ing to the host team in the cham­pi­onship game.

The top six teams from the western re­gion took part in the one-day tour­na­ment.

Par-en-Bas placed first in their pool by de­feat­ing Clare 25-11, 26-24 and Hor­ton 25-16, 25-20.

They then faced Digby in the crossovers and came on top 2513, 25-21 to earn a spot in the cham­pi­onship, where they fell short to Bluenose Academy, los­ing in two sets to get sil­ver.

The re­gion­als capped off a sea­son in which the Par-en-Bas ju­nior girls won gold in their home tour­na­ment and also at the Digby tour­na­ment.

The team was coached by An­drea Doucette, as­sisted by Chase DeViller and Kelsey Boyd.
